Changing primary weights

Can I just use a bar and a piece of wood (relieve the spider tension) to change the primary weights like I used to do with my '03 Edge RMK? I've always rode Doo with the exception of that RMK. Thanks, Ben.

Thank you!

Will there be any bushings or other pieces that could be lost when I pull the mounting bolt? Thanks, Ben

Need some heat on the #8 set screws to break the Loctite free.

And for loose parts, the thing to watch for are the two #7 rubber o-rings on each weight bolt.

Thanks Sabre

I'm sure it won't be a prob. I do all my own work. I just like to take the side of caution. I don't want to spend money and create more work for myself if its not necessary!

The set screws usually turn easy enough with some heat, when you put them back in use red loctite and be sure to hit the dimple in the bolt. Also put blue loctite on the nut for the bolt and only tighten it until you start to feel some resistance to the swinging of the weight. I have never figured out why they put a shoulder on the bolt and if you tighten the nut up to it, the O-rings are too tight and you get jerky engagemnet.

use the U shaped clutch retainer that all us Polaris edge guys use to have . It slipped over the primary bolt head when you compressed the tower.
made it 100% easier and no pinched fingers:scared:
