Changing DD gears in an 09.

Do you have to press the input gear out of the case cover or can it be done without a press?

You do not need a press. Just give it a tap or two with a hammer.

Hmmm, I pretty much tee'd off on it with a rubber mallet already. It didn't budge.
Guess I'll go at it again today then.

Should come right out, mine has several times on my 09.

Got it out. Just had to go at it with a deadblow.

Now have to get new bearings...None available locally today.

Anyone know standard #'s for the other bearings in there? (the two skinny ones and the fat one) I'd like to get US made ones from the bearing store.

The bearings come off pretty easy jus twork your way around the leading edge with a fine flat screwdriver and a tap tap hammer. I just changed my gears and did this same episode. Easy 1/2 hr job.
