so there is a local dispute in the whap breck area (mn, nd). about snowmobile bans in town and on the new flood water diversion which i was not aware of. so my buddy was tooling around on the diversion and somehow chan 4 news flagged him down for an interview. well they asked him 2 general questions,
do you think snowmobileing should be banned in town- "no, then i would have to trailer two blocks to get to the outskirts. but it should be limited to a point a point b kind of thing"
do you think it should be banned to not damage the diversion(also asked somthing about tresspassing)- "definitely not, this is a great place to ride and damage is near impossible cause its frozen hard as concrete, besides i didnt see any signs"

so what do you think they played on the news brodcast?

of course they took the first pic of when he didnt even know they were there pullin a nice one off the bank wot on a piped 1000 mc tripple screamin.
and cropped out his interview to "i didnt see any signs"

It's BS. Snowmobiles exert LESS PSI on the ground than the reporters standing on the dike/diversion on their own 2 feet. How about the heavy equipment used to construct them? Or the maintenance vehicles that will drive up and down them? Or the lawnmowers/tractors used to mow them? A snowmobile is A) driving on frozen ground. B) weight distributed by track and skis. C) lighter than anything else that's going to travel on it.

News reporters are a JOKE. They'll do whatever they can to put the spin on they want to get the "hot" story they want.
