Was planning on getting a 156-15-2.5'' challenger extreme but now arctic cat came out with this power claw. Ive herd nothing but good about both tracks but in your opinion whitch would be better on a 2007 M1000 153. stock right now. but will be turning just over 200HP next fall..

Gary

One more question. so does anyone know if you will be able to get the power claw with a 2.5'' paddle. right now that is the only thing making me doubt the power claw over the extreme. if i can get it with a 2.5 paddle IT"S ON!!!!!!

also interested. i read good things on these boards about them as im sure we all have noticed the buzz. but some of that hype has originated from sellers of said track as well. i never rode an attack 20, read alot of love and hate with that one. will this be another of those? also noticed that assault 144? had a wierd looking track to

Has anyone checked the difference in price? I would like to change out tracks next year. The powder claw track looks good.

The Challenger Extreme is proven, but I like my A-20 now that is is straightening up, and thats basically what the powder claw is, is a straightened A-20 with a couple of lugs added!

I was really impressed with the claw track when I rode the 09s...floats very well and has good edge bite. As for how it compares to an extreme or with 200HP, tough to tell. I do like the challenger as well but I've not been this impressed with a track for awhile. The 800 I was on was only pulling 35 MPH track speed but it was working it's way up the hill very well. The only question I'd have would be the 200HP factor...and I've not had either in the deep powder. If I was putting one on, it would be the claw though...it just floated really well and had excellent edge bite.

I have not ridden a sled with the power claw, but I did see the 09 sleds in person on the hill and examined the claw closely.
My pa has an extreme on his king cat 1150.
The claw looks to be almost a 2.5, and is a fairly soft compound from what I can tell... The guy riding it said it was good on the hardpack, but not great.
He did say it worked very well in the powder.
Touch call... On a stocker I would say power claw, but with 200 ponies I'm thinking the extreme MAY be a better option, but on a 153 it may trench at low speeds.
I think if you want a good allaround track, extreme... But if you want a great powder track, I would buy the claw. Just My opionion.
I was told the rails have been narrowed on the 09s, but others have said the claw will bolt onto an 08 or older sled.

I have a claw on a tnytro. The rails are the same width or it would not have fit. It works great on the harder snow. I have very little time on it in very deep snow. From the deep that I have been in though it should work very good. as far as price u will pay a little more for the claw, just because it is coming from cat not camoplast.

i have never seen the power claw but heard it is almost a challenger in the middle with fingers on the outside it sounds pretty good to me and ive only heard good things about it apperently the "everything track" has been found?

"I've never seen the power claw, or ridden with either track, but heard blah blah, so here is my opinion..... Blah blah blah....."

Got to love SnoWest!........ So full of cold hard facts.

Tested a new m sled with the power claw, If i got a sled with the power claw first thing i would do is get the attack 20 and turn it around. Those tracks rock the ****.

Kid Walter- IMO, Power Claw looks like a compromise between a little finger track and ??, Maverick is history. Been running a 156x16x2.5 Camo X-treme for 3-4 seasons now, 4-5 trips west a season, (:(:beer;) This track will dig down to hell or sagebrush, which ever comes first.

Sorry to hear bout the Cat thing, get the Camo-X.:beer;:D:p;)

Toss up

Rode the 09s in west with Brett Rasmussen, Dad has a 162 2.25 camo on his 08 m1000 and I have a 162 2.5 camo extreme on my 07 m1000.

Powder claw is definatly above the 2.25 in every aspect hard packed and powder, I was never really impressed with the 2.25.

Between the 2.5 and the powder claw is a little closer, I think the powder claw will dominate on the lower horsepower stock sleds in soft snow, But I don't think it will be as good as the 2.5 in spring like conditions on 200 plus horsepower sleds.

My opinion: horsepower > 200 = camo extreme
horsepower < 200 = powder claw

My Challenger Extreme is a great track and hooks up well on my TM7! The Power Claw is something we know little about. Until we can get it on the snow and ride the piss out of it for a year we won't really know. Hopefully, it will be a good track???

Side by side the Powder Claw outperforms the Extreme. I have ridden it in hardpack, and soft snow. Braking on hardpack was awesome on the claw, the powder capabilities were better as well. The 2.5 tends to trench. Don't get me wrong the Extreme is awesome, but the Powder Claw is better. From what I have seen on Powder Claws with mucho miles they are holding up fine.

So, how do we get one? there are a few on sleds now, so obviously they are shipping...

Any input here? I am not afraid to be part of the testing crew...can you get ahold of one Racin?
