Chaincase Oil level?

Just changed my chaincase oil in my 05 900 and added the 11oz as per the manual. However, when I check the level with the dip stick it is about 3/4 to an inch above the "safe" marks. Was just wondering if this is normal or did I put too much in? How much is supposed to be in there? If it is overfull, will it hurt anything? Thanks for your time guys.

With sled sitting level on the ground, I have always filled it to 1/2 across the site glass. I've never ever had a issue, I think a Poo mechanic gave me that info.

My sled is an 05 Fusion 900 and does not have a sight glass, just a dipstick. Thanks for the response though. Good info and helpful to others!

I can't see it hurting anything if you put a little extra in, it's not a pressurized system. The dip-stick on the 05s is a real nice feature... collects any metal shavings and provides a great fill point. Just make sure you don't run low. If you don't have the metal reinforcement plate for the plastic bottom, be sure to get it to prevent warping and leaking.

Actually just bought a billet chaincase cover from guidoxpress today so that should eliminate any future warping/leaking problems.
