chain tension

I am changing the gears in my sled and want to go to a 19/41 but when I go to put it together the chain is fairly tight and I can't get the tensioner in was wondering if anyone has run them without the tensioner it is a newer chain and will stretch some any help would be great

It's been done, it is a little tough finding the proper gear to chain ratio in order to run without a tensioner. You can try heating up the chain (within reason) and see if it will slide on. Once installed there should be a small amount of slack, If you find that the chain is so tight you can play the duelling banjos song on it your prob going to run into issues.

Yeah i got.the chain in had to slide both gears in together once i gor them lined up they slid in pretty easy there is some slack maybe around 1/4 or little more just hoping that it doesnt put to.much stress on the bearings

that sounds about right for tension, just a little but not enough that it can contact the side of the chain case, should work fine, just keep an eye on things in case the chain does loosen up.
