Chain question 06 Summit

I just installed Team Industires Hy-vo Chain and gears on a 06 summit 800. 1: Is a "Silent" Chain the same as Hy-vo? Part number on package matches what I ordered (3/4" wide hyvo borg warner chain ) but package said borg warner silent chain.

2: How much chain lube, I had heard 8 Oz but the bottles are 12 and parts boy said use the whole thing?

3: educate me on gear alignment. I had both gears in without the chain and threw a straight edge on them and the top gear appeard to be a light 1/8" back. Do I need shims?

4: I'm running 19 top 45 bottom and a 74 link chain (same as stock) when I tightened the adjuster seems like the spring is useless should there be more free play?

5: Should I be able to notice a visible differnce in the Hy-vo vs stock chain? Looked pretty much the same? Travis

Gears should be in alignment, but make sure they are both torqued down when you check with a straight edge.
Should say 3/4 wide on the Hyvo if I recall, that's what I run also.

1. Don't know

2: Use what it takes to get it to the full line. That is the top line that is 1/4" higher than the low line. Make sure the stick is all the way in when checking too. I would guess this to be closer to 8 than 12

3: This really depends on what setup you are running. How wide is the top and botom gear?

4: You tighten the adjuster by hand. Do not use a wrench. It will completely botom the spring out, there will be very little free play, but some.

5: Again, I don't know.

Hope this helps

I looked at a bunch of different Team chain packages. The Hyvo will say 3/4". The non-hyvo will say 13 or 15 depending on how wide they are. Sounds like you have the correct chain.
