Is it a good idea to wrap and or Band your pipe after ceramic coating? I have heard that at a minimum you should use a pipe band due to the harmonics.

What are you guys using to wrap your pipes???

Banding works the best. Helps prevent cracking in the welds. You can buy a strip of header wrap and a hose clamp and make a nice looking band for about $5.00.

I have also had good luck wrapping the stock clam shell back on and giving it a good polish job and it looks good. On a turbo sled I like to use header wrap on the pipe, usually runs about $65.00 per pipe and some patience.

cpi made a turbo pipe for my turbo xp last year. the weld cracked open about 12" on the outside. had it welded shut and a biger bead of weld built up. then it blew open a 5 or 6" on the inside seam. had that welded up and bead built up. then I painted it black with vht flame proof paint. got some good black header wrap and wraped the whole thing very well. put 2 of the slp stainless hose clamps on and another stainless hose clamp from lowes on the expansion chamber. put one hose clamp on each end of the pipe to hold the header wrap on.
Pipe never cracked again the rest of the year and I think it performs better also. keeps the pipe hot and underhood temps down. :face-icon-small-coo

When you put the stock clam shell back on over the ceramic coating do you put any kind of insulation under it?
