I just want to pass along some information here.
First, I'd like to remind everyone that the speed limit through Centennial is 30 miles per hour. I still see a lot of cars and rigs just blow through town without slowing down. Please remember that our children (and occasionally a loose pet) cross this highway daily, and it can be very dangerous when the road conditions are snow packed or icy.
Second, we had an incident today that just blows my mind. A trailer pulled up to fill their machines, and one of the guys mistakenly started putting diesel fuel into his sled. However, instead of coming in to talk with us about how we could fix the situation (we could have siphoned it back into our diesel tank), the next thing we know he's got his sled tipped over in the parking lot and dumped the fuel onto the ground. WTF??? My partner and another local jumped on them real quick. The local called the sheriff, and we now have to dispose of the mess (my partner made them shovel it all up - thankfully it snowed). Many people use this mountain year-round, and one gallon of gas can pollute around 70,000 gallons of water. There are so many beautiful lakes and streams in this area that are not polluted, and we'd like to keep it that way. Please, please don't do things like this!!
And finally, some good news. We have lowered our room rates this year to $55 a night. We are also offering a 10% discount to anyone who mentions Snowest when they make their reservation. We finally got a decent snow storm last night, and snow conditions are starting to look a lot better. Can't wait to see you all on the mountain!
