CDST Where to stay and ride

Ok, if someone wanted to go to the CDST, stay in one place where would you guys suggest.

We would like to have lots of play areas, and a little climbing, but not real big on major vertical climbs, but a few is ok.

Would love peoples suggestions on the best places to go.

O yeah, we are going to be coming from the midwest so the less we have to drive the better.

togwotee lodge has all the necessities, good access, right on the trail system....most people have good reviews of the place

You could go to SLO. http://www.steamboatoutfitters.com/ The trail is a bit north and can be tough to find if you don't know how to get to it. The area does have a lot of big open spots to ride in.
