Here is the list

WTF ! ? !

an 87 GNX, 95 Bentley Continental, 1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante, 00 Jag XK8 convertible, 85 Maserati Quattroporte, MANY MANY corvettes . . .

What a great use of our tax dollars.

Maybe they could do a cash for clunkers in congress, and we "the people" could scrap some of them fclunkers.

Some people are just stupid, including the idiots that set the paramiters for the program.

08' 300 AWD
08'Ram 1500 2WD
08' Explored 4WD
08' F150 2WD
08' mustang

How do people take only $4500 for these?
I stopped after Ford.

I am not defending the program because personally I think it sucked.
I can't speak for every dealership that participated, but I am pretty confident based on my 16 years in the car industry that if a car made the list, it was worth less than the CARS rebate. In the case of the late models Hawk listed I would bet they were reconstruct vehicles or had major damage or major mechanical problems detracting significantly from their value. At my dealership, if a car was valued anywhere close to the rebate amount we would increase its "ACV" (actual cash value) to match the cars rebate it qualified for in order to avoid the hassle of filing a claim, waiting to get paid, and dealing with disabling the car. If it was worth more than we just gave the customer the true trade in value and kept it as a trade to be resold, and avoided the program altogether.
