are the cases on the 05 rmk the same as the 2006?? will the cylinders mate up? is there any issues with the 06 being 4 injectors instead of 2 ? help is appreciated...

my 05 needs some luvin...Im just looking for some parts as when i get this thing tore down i will not cheap out...if it needs a crank it will get new cases...but the crank is still ok i think gotta do a runout check but so far just needs top end and new seals, and a balanced clutch...will put in the good motor mounts as well...if anybody has some goodies let me no...thanks for the info

2006 mounts, balance Primary AND flywheel if you have the chance.

Get the injectors cleaned and flow checked, replace the fuel filter, all grade-8 bolts on the mounts and mount plates...VERY important... primary/secondary and gearing are TOP priorites. .... Be careful not to spin the crank with the cyls off... you will kink the oil injection fitting.

Lots of other details to look into that can give you a good experience thru the whole thing... good luck.

my introduction as a newby

just wanted to introduce myself as I am a new member and finally after many years of my buddy's telling me I need a sled...well I now own one! it's an 05 rmk 900 which now I find out from this superb website is my kinda unit. I have an extensive history with PWC and am a former multi world champion in the late 90's and early 2000's...I build all my own stuff and unfortunately tune it as well..lol...I am a former factory polaris racer in pwc and no this polaris stuff pretty good although this clutch chit is new and somewhat confusing to me but I will get it! I look forward to building this sled and learning from you guys so I may adapt to this sport. Thanks thus far for all the info and look forward to trouble shooting!!.....cheers....Cory (im2fast4u)

I don't have the engine out yet but what's this about kinking the oil injection fitting if I turn over the crank without cylinders in place??? Please elaborate!

There are two of four brass fitting which inject oil into the case, in line with each connecting rod on the crank, when the pistons and cylinders are connected, the rods will not touch these fittings, where they protrude into the crankcase. But without the top end attached these rods can flop around and damage these fittings, causing a restriction in oil flow into the case, when reassembled.
You can dremmel these fittings flush with the crankcase, re-chamfer the holes, blow it out, and volla, no need to worry anymore about them being damaged during your rebuild.
Good Luck!

Not a problem.
Even if it was just dribbling in, with all that rotation in there, and being that close, that oil is being sprayed everywhere.
