Caroll Shelby

Shelby considered his greatest achievement to be the establishment of the Carroll Shelby Foundation™. Created in 1992 while Shelby was waiting for a heart transplant, the charity is dedicated to providing medical assistance for those in need, including children, educational opportunities for young people through automotive and other training programs and benefitting the Carroll Shelby Automotive Foundation.

I know he was 89, but it's still sad. REALLY sad. Shelby was a hell of a nice guy and very cool humble guy.

My cousin bought a sweet new GT500 in 2008 at the Boise Ford dealer. He got in line and when his number was up, he took it to Vegas for the Super Snake package. It was a $50k+ package. Make the car about 800hp. He bought an enclosed trailer for it and it became a $100k show car/trailer queen. LOL.
He's NEVER gotten any less than first at every car show he's entered it in.

It's a BEAUTY, that's for sure. It's only got a couple thousand miles on it. It's in the Boise area right now...and he was talking about selling it this past winter cause he was wanted the money for something new.

I told him what something new is....not sellng that car before Shelby dies.

Unfortunately, that had to come true some day.

This quote reminds me of Mr.Shelby's life.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
― Hunter S. Thompson

As we speak, he is probably apologizing to God for the early 80's "Shelby Charger"

Had a friend that had a black and silver one bought it brand new. It may have been a joke but that thing was a little hot rod. It flat flew. The Viper is my favorite of anything he had his hands on.

Mr Shelby was an awesome guy and a legend, thats for sure! I hope they keep the business going in Vegas. I stop there every chance I get to walk through the store and check out all the cars on display.
Super Snake is my true dream car
