carls cycle

Is anybody running a carls cycle 860 big bore kit in their 800 dragon. I have a 2010 dragon and thinking about doing this instead of trading. Warranty is up in december everyone knows the 800 engine story.

Have one in an IQR, same motor different chassis. Great motor, strong and reliable, Carls is great to work with. Only down side is it's a bit pricy, coupla bucks more gets u a turbo and more power. Either way I have never spoke to anyone who owns one that is dissapointed. Steve

I have two buddies riding them and one has 3500 trouble free miles in the mountains. The other only about 2k but also trouble free. Best part is they run very strong.

Great kit, ZERO issues, good power but a tad $$$ solves pretty much all the 800 issues by using the custom separate cylinders and carls ecu programming ect.

lurker said it best...He's never spoken to anyone with the Carl's 860 that has been disappointed.

More proof needed? I do not personally own an 860 but I've dragged several around the country showing people how they work for Carl's these past couple seasons. The results of which have been everyone of those sled's getting sold plus some kits. Very impressive performance results and you just put fuel in and ride like you would your stocker but you get a lot more snort. Once you've ridden with or on one to compare to your existing setup it's pretty much a done deal. Field performance results is what sells this product.

The key to success is to buy exactly what Carl's Performance recommends completely as well as running the setup just as they spec. Those are the happy owners! (that is really true of all of their big bore kits)

If you like to ride tighter areas, the bb is the way to go. Imo. I can't speak for the 860 but I own a slp 777 and it is a blast to ride in the trees. I would believe coming from a shop like carls, you will have one helluva sled that's pull the rope and go.

Don't know anything about the Carl's kits but they sound like a good option for the CFI4. If your only worried about reliability you should check out the FIX from PMS motorsports. This won't give you much more power but is supposed to make the CFI engine much more reliable, for way less money.
