How much more power? Is it 175-180 all day?

What happened to SW? I haven't been around for a couple years, when I left the Carl's 860 was the bomb here on the forum. Straight up competition for turbos. Very solid well sought after BB with a rock solid reputation. Now all I'm seeing is negative comments? It's always been pricey but also always been worth every penny.

Carls stuff is rock solid I ride with two different guys that have 900 kits and its pull the rope and go.

Since this is the wrong place for an ad.... might as well derail just a little:face-icon-small-hap

During the off season you can have an Indy Specialties motor built with a three year warranty for under $3000. That leaves a lot of money for big bores, SLP kits etc. Seems like you could do better for less, a lot less.

You won't get an IndyDan motor for $3k if you don't have all the pieces (cylinders, cases, crank) to send him as cores.

Still going to be way less than 6 grand, no?

I know, I know, not a 900, not "Carls". I am happy to see a business with such loyal customers. Clearly they do things right. Sticker shock like that though does dissuade many.

before you buy this motor ask how it is warrentied if you change the clutching. lol.

i wouldn't run his stuff if he gave it to me. sorry but just my 2 cents

This motor does not fit in the AXYS chassis, as the mounts are different. This motor will also outperform any 800!

for 7500 to make it work i sure hope so. a well set up turbo kit installed is about the same...
What is the warranty on the short block?
like i expect an answer...

Don't forget this is a no-core price. If you have a low mile / no mile PRO 800, sell your current engine for $2500, have a complete 900 for $3500, add power commander and pipe.

Strange how they want your ECU to reflash but still want you to use a power commander? My 08 860 runs a reflashed ECU without any power commander. (When it was running, that is another topic, not Carls fault, possible wiring / stator / injector issue). Love the 860 torque. Especially climbing. Pulls and pulls and pulls...

Don't mean to step on toes but since this isn't the swap meet section I figure we might as well open this up for discussion.
Can anyone confirm that the 13 sleds with 900 motors didn't work well? I hear rumor has it that 13's had issues for whatever reason, maybe electronics and the 14 and 15 sleds with kits work a whole lot better!

Also Why cant Carls cut the power commander out of the deal. I believe the deal with the power commander was the first motors they did used the stock pipe. Then they added the SLP pipe to the works and instead of making changes to the ECU they just stacked a PCV on top of it for the SLP Pipe.

Might be the last 900 for the pro they ever build and sell.

With the total price, most peeps are going to simply jump to the Axys, first. Few are gonna be so in love with the pro in the next year to dump that coin on a NA non-current chassis. You can blow your pro 800 motor, rebuild and sell it, move to an Axys, and still be close to that money. If you just want hp for your pro, lots of hair dryers will exist for much less.

Not dumping on Carl's stuff, I've bought many items from them, just shows how the market changes when a new model comes out. I am thinking they are working on the Axys 900 already, maybe with a core exchange.
