carls clutch mod and kit - anyone tried yet?

The stock sheaves actually have different angles to help with smoother engagement but that causes some slipping under power so... Carl's simply machines the higher angle sheave down to same angle as the other which is also the same as the belt (not a secret last I looked; 28 degrees machined down to 26). Less slip = less heat.

Have FUN!

Where did you ride? Cooke? Bighorns? Just trying to get an idea of an elevation. Did you ride your sled much previous to the clutch mod? Was there a noticeable "seat of the pants" feeling? From what I am reading it seems like the benefit most people have noticed is cooler clutch temps. I am wondering if I could achieve this with a few vents, and come out ahead monetarily speaking.

We rode Cooke, I did not ride my sled prior to having the mod done so I can not say if there was any performance gain but I have no doubt that it lowered belt/clutch temps as they stayed cool all day. My sled was not even off of the break in map and it was running dead even with my wifes XP that I have spent close to 2,000 in clutching alone and her sled absolutely rips.
