carlisle belts

Well its time for a new belt on the Apex and I was looking at the Ultimax and XS belts from Carlisle. They claim to run cooler with less slipping. Has anyone got any first hand experience with either of those belts?

I have ran them on my Apex and was not impressed. thy are softer than stock so thy say thy grip better so less slipping on the clutches = lower heat. I did the break in on mine on the groomed trail ( and I never did this with stock belt) and thy didn't last very long so for my money I will stick with the stockers and get twice the miles. There was no noticeable performance gain.

I did not try an XS belt but tried an U3 and it lasted less then 300 miles!
In fact it exploded at WOT, what a mess and it damaged beyond repair the
"wet left foot plate"

Went back to the stocker (8DN-01)

Stock belt is the best thing you can buy period, no other belt come close to a 8dn-17461-01.

Maybe it is just cause the stocker is worn, but I cant get it to the top of the sheaves in the secondary. I put a couple spacers in but is still about 1.5-2 mil below the sheaves. I did hear the 8dn was a little on the short side so maybe that could be part of the problem.

Ran them both on a stock Apex and a boosted Apex - no comparison IMO - stock belt much better.
