Carburetor UFOs

I had them installed on a mod Summit 670X. Seemed to help with throttle response a little. Have seen them installed on a lot of round slide carbed sleds. Fairly inexpensive, so give them a shot!

What sled and what carbs? I have installed these on 30/34 Mikuni round slides on 440/580/670 AC and they take alot of adjusting.

They come in a varity of slide angles for a variety altitudes. I think I settled on the 02 slide for 8-11,000' You have to reduce your PJ size by 30-40% because the system increases low speed venturi action--much better low and mid range--no change in top end. Lost some fuel economy probably due to a happy thumb.:D

I did this over 10 yrs ago and can't remember much else:mad:

they work well, but aren't just a bolt in and go. They do require tuning, and CAREFUL reading of the instructions!!!!! Pay attention to what slide cutaway you put in and have a large assortment of pilot jets handy to tune with, as you will likely change them a few times before you find the right one.

I have a set for the T-Cat sittin in my closet. I have heard that sometimes you can get a lean condition if you do a high speed pull then let off completely and coast to a stop. That's from Arnie himself so I tend to believe. I'm not sleddin this year so probably won't be puttin them on. Definately will have the westach EGT's before this mod though. That's my 2 cents.

These are not a drop-in like stated above. However they do work as advertised when set-up correctly. If you overlook anything when setting up, your motor will remind you with a hole! If you are concern with loss of fuel mileage then drill you needle tube with a .050" hole then redo your set-up. This will change your low speed giving a leaner low to mid range. Keep watch as the mid range trail speeds are effected greatly and this is where many burn downs happen. I added these to 1997 XCR 600 (mono block) and Ultra's with great results. Both had EGT's which helped a lot. Would I do it again??? No unless I needed every bit of power and response to win.
