Carbon rail by Nextech

Nextech just dropped a video on Instagram of their prototype carbon rail for Alphas. It looks beautiful but I'm sure the price tag is going to be quite prohibitive for most as a set of rails is $1140 for twin setups.
It's still exciting to see as I ruined my rail this weekend and I'm in the market for a new one.

Forgot to mention, the rail with TI hardware saves 1 lb.

Doesn’t seem like a lot of weight savings. But looks pretty sweet. Are the carbon rails more durable?

Saw a post of FB, price tag might be around $1,800usd....yikes!

They said they over built it so a person shouldn't have any issues with the rail.

If the $1800 is true that is a tough one to justify.

My bet is they won't sell any at $1800 a pound. If they lost like 5 pounds and no worries about breaking them, you might sell a few. They look awesome but the price is too scary. For a Benjamin or two more you can get a brand new alpha skid and track. Glad they do stuff like this but good luck selling them.

I don't see the weight savings as a selling point on this so much as an increase in strength. If it takes a beating and keeps going that's worth a lot to some people. If you start comparing this to the cost of a stock rail with bracing added then price comparison gets a little closer and would be even less weight. Just another way of looking at it. I really like the fact it has an actual bump stop up front.

It is a beautiful piece, but unless it lost a significant amount of weight i don't see them selling many. No one will know if its any stronger until there are enough put there on the snow getting abused. I can buy 3 cat rails for one of those and haven't broken a cat single rain in 1400 miles.

Carbon fiber is not always stronger just because it is carbon fiber. I Love carbon fiber components but I have had carbon fiber components break.

It would be great if it was so much stronger, but it is a lot of money to spend with no real proof of any tangible benefits yet.

Totally agree. If it's done wrong it's a disaster. If it's done correctly its strength to weight ratio is tough to beat.

they have a lot of posts on the IG page showing the strength comparison of a factory rail vs CF rail (twin rail stuff). its pretty crazy how much stronger there CF gear is. i ran there full carbon/Ti mono shock skid in my old sled and it was amazing
