Any suggestions on places that would have the springs that attach to the slides on my 2000 700 rmk? Could I use some from a hardware store if they're the right length? Thanks.

I don't know why you couldn't use a hardware spring, as long as it fit the slide properly. You may notice the difference in spring rate, that could make your thumb tired sooner. Just make sure the springs will return the slides to idle, and also that when at wot, the slides will clear the top of the carb throats, not being restricted by too many coils of spring. I would get the oem springs as a first choice. I'd think your dealer could help in finding those.
