Car rentals

Someone who does this a bit needs to give me some insight. I wanted a 12 pass. van but I think renting 2 small cars will be cheaper.

Oct 9th in Syracuse, NY and drop them off in Boston on Oct 22.

Got any tips on how to do this without getting hosed? It seems taxes and other fees are more than the rentals themselves.

Try www.carrentals.com and put in the info.

Sometimes if you have a corporate code/discount, the drop fees are waived.

Google one way rental, corporate code, and other combinations you can think of to see if one comes up. If you find one, put it in the online reservation and the counter agents hardly ever ask for ID to verify that you work for "IBM" "Delta airlines" or whoever etc.

Dude! Priceline.com! negotiate for those cars at $5 a day... usually end up getting them anywhere from $7-$10 a day...

Its not the rental price that is the killer, its all the "other" stuff. I will however check it out.

[edit] Well, you need to be a lot smarter than I, to figure it out. I never even found a place to 'name my price'. The rental price given was a lot higher than anything I had seen prior. :/
