cap and tax is inevitable!

Don't forget about GE, whose CEO is a top advisor to Obama.

I saw an internal memo to GE employees talking about how important Obama's green agenda was to them. They're going to make all the "green" junk.

yep that's right... immelt is all in as well!:(

Here's the quote from that internal memo:

"The intersection between G.E.'s interests and government action is clearer than ever. On climate change, we were able to work closely with key authors of the Waxman-Markey climate and energy bill, and we are continuing our efforts to make certain that a final bill includes provisions to ensure the United States maintains its leading position in the renewable energy industry, which is an industry sector of vital importance to the future of G.E."

It becomes very dangerous when big business has such an influence on government.

GE is also the owner of NBC and MSNBC so you know cap and trade will be pushed BIG TIME.

However, the chances of it passing are slim at best.
The unemployment rate is too high and the debt is still too high.
The dems are really worried about 2010 elections.
If cap and trade passes the republicans will beat the daylights out of the fact it cost billion more in taxes, raised everyone's heating bills and cost a few hundred thousand MORE jobs.

I see a major push for it, but I don't see it passing.
There is just too many people paying attention right now. The dems can't slip one by. If the house held the vote today, it wouldn't pass.

That is one nasty cocktail, big business + it's government influence + 2 major media sources to spew their propaganda.

I sure hope you are right about Cap and Trade not getting the votes. I'm not convinced though. Look at all the tricks they are trying to pull to get health care to pass. It's criminal. They clearly know we don't want anything to do with it and they don't have the votes, yet they keep working the system to push it through. They'll push through health care, then Cap and Trade, then we'll get a VAT tax to pay for it all, then we can kiss this nation good bye.

Anytime legislation is not popular, they re-name it to something that sounds so nice and will try to ram it through hoping the citizens are not really paying attention. Aren't they going to rename Cap and Trade to "Pollution Reduction Act" or something like that?

oh i certainly agree with all your points buuuut as v-man said they are trying every deception imagined to get this stuff passed. 'overwhelm' the system so we cant keep up with all the issues and bam they will sneak something through in the middle of the night!:mad::mad:

Same thing they tried with amnesty under Bush.
Same thing they are trying with obamacare.

Both of those programs have/had some of the most influencial people and entities in the country pressing for their passage.
The people screamed and amnesty died.
Obamacare is another one that I don't think will go anywhere.
The dems know the republicans will crusify em for the cost and government take over.
Similarly the republicans will crush the dems with job losses and cost increases with cap and trade.

I think the dems know those programs won't fly.
The dems that arn't up for re-election will vote for it (and any morons they can get), but the bills will fail. The dems then use those failures to attack the republicans as the party of NO.
It gets the dems off the hook for the costs and job losses and gives the dems some ammo to use against the republicans. They will need it and they know it. The dems are in trouble with the whole federal deficit. They will need all the ammo they can get to beat off the republicans in the 2010 elections. They know they will lose seats, they are just going to try and minimize the damage.

Case in point.
