Can't remember which way the chaincase tensioner goes on

I cant remember which way the lip that is on the tensioner itself goes. I thought that the lip goes toward the outside of the chaincase but i cant remember...i tried referencing an oem parts diagram but it doesnt show the lip. Someone please let me know if it is toward the inside or outside of the case.

it turned out what had me so screwed up is that my tensioner was wore down and it made a sort of shelf...well not really paying that much attention to it i thought that the shelf was factory...no worries i got her all back together and im ready to go for tomorrow.
