Does anyone make a skidplate with wide fins to deflect snow? Super deep snow makes it tough to keep feet on pegs. thanks

Take that a step further. Is anyone able to pull a bike all the way over like a sled can be layed over? I can drag the bars on a bike but getting my helmet down to or beneath snow level like I can on a sled causes the snow bike to topple or not power out.

I'm not sure if its power, or surface area but I need those deep carves

Practice turning your toes in on steep side hills so the snow pushes your legs into the bike, if your toes are out it will rip you right off the bike in deep snow in the steeps. The wide skid plate helps on jumps in deep snow, but it won't help much on side hills

I think body panels would help with being able to lay a bike over. The hawks have no problem. They were made to be on their side.

I seen these here in the snowbike forum. I saved the pic because it looks like the way to go for a snowbike.

I made a wider skid plate than the frame rails. You still get some snow on the pegs, and if it is really deep it will still pull your knees outward. I would just get a larger peg that clears snow better.

Worst thing to happen to me was having the shift lever fold in flat, so could barely shift trying to get out of some pretty wicked terrain.

So skid plate protecting the shifter is a good thing!
