Can't get tether cord working on 09 M8

I got the tether kit for my 09 M8 HCR. I hooked it up and at most the headlights turn off. That won't be good if I fall off my sled in the dark...not only could it end up in the trees, but I'd have a hard time finding it with no lights lol

I thought this was a PnP setup. Any suggestions?

It came with a wiring harness, and a purple and brown wiring connectors and two sets of instructions.

Sounds like you tied into the wrong conection. I think the plugs are the same for the headlights and ignition switch (Style).

yup, you have to go one plug farther in, you will have to take the triangle cover off and it's hiding behind that. I did the same thing, mine was on a 010 but it's the same kill switch

I found it after behind the steering post. Works like a charm now! I put the engine back in my old 1M 600 but couldn't install a tether cord on the first try...go figure
