Cant get my Avenger 2 to charge?

I have an avenger 2 on my sled hooked up the power wire (red) to one of the wires coming out of a fuse block, signal wire (yellow) off of one of the yellow wires out of stator, and ground (black) obviously on the chassis.

The avenger turns on with the sled, reads tach, egts, and water temp just fine but it wont charge the batteries? I tried new batteries, ground wire off the motor to the frame, and reconected the wires to make sure it wasnt a conection problem.

oh i forgot to mention this is on an 04 800ho.

anybody have any ideas what could wronge?

Not all Avengers are rechargeable. The newer ones are but the older ones weren't. Make sure it is the rechargeable type and make sure it has rechargeable/NiCad batteries and not alkaline batteries.
