can't get grease to go into suspension.

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anybody has a trick to get grease to go into the grease fittings in my rear suspension, I have 3 fittings I can't get grease into and I have tried everything, The zert fittings are not clogged, I have taken them off even put one on that had no spring and bearing in it, I have loosened the bolts to the shafts that I am trying to grease, had my daughter move the suspension up and down, any suggestions would be great.

Take the skid out. Depending on use, the shafts might not be straight anymore and stopping new grease entry. And the old grease in there may be so gummed up that new stuff can't get in. Either way, taking it apart and seeing what condition it is in would be good.

Good luck!

take the suspension out and shafts ... go to the autoparts store get new zirt fittings and re-grease everything. That way you can check how your shafts are wearing and how they look. :face-icon-small-win

sorry x2

I've seen you pull your suspension out of your old sled 4 o5 times. It isn't that bad you just need to reset your track.

Hey guys,
Screw it, I'm just going to snow check a 2013! I will put some grease on the outside and maybe it will soak through. yes, yes. I decided to work out instead of messin with it. I will grease it next year.

Brother's Dragon had the same issue on one zert. Ended up taking it completely apart, cleaning it out really good and drilled the zert hole out just ever so slightly larger. Back together and works find now.

If it still doesn't work, something is probably tweaked just a little.

Hey guys,
Ok, here I go It's not like I have anything else to do. I'll just hit the garage and turn up Everlast, and take some mushrooms, opps! did I say that, Just a dream.

Hey guys,
The zert fittings are clear, I took them off and squirted grease through them, but when I put them back on the grease will not go through, I even stood on the grease gun handle, then I broke the grease gun handle, switched to other gun.

My TS skid is the same way. I have two that I can't grease. Tried new zerks, cleaning, blowing, never did work. I just have to manually grease when they are apart and hope for the best.

I think the tolerance is two close to get the grease in is all I can guess.

Pretty frustrating though I feel ya.

Hey guys,
Ya, I have the parts off the sled, had to tap out the inside out of the sleeve cleaned it, greased it, when I push it back in, it's tight enough so that even when it's off the sled sitting on the bench, I can't squirt grease in it. the whole thing is actually turning on the bolt that goes through. so I will just grease the bolt, ride it.

arms bent??

sounds like the cross shafts and suspension arms are bent. Binding everything up. you can buy new parts or straighten the old parts. clean the shafts and arm tubes with a brush to get the inside of the tube clean. when you can slide the cross shaft in by hand, then your ready to re install and grease the suspension.

heat is your friend...heat the tubes with the shafts you want to grease..capillary action..like soldering..make sure its wam close to the zerk so it liquifies the grease somewhat

make sure the tube is drilled thru to the cross shaft , one of mine had a grease zirt but the tube was not drilled
