Can't build boost

09 HCR M8 530 miles. Cutler stage 3 turbo.

I'm having troubles building boost. I can get 7 pounds with the boost controller fully out and 12 pounds with the controller fully in at 5000ft. Also the same at 2350 ft.

I just had the reeds out this week and checked them (bog issue) and they were fine. I went over all the connections and found my line going from my airbox to my attitude box was half ripped. Replaced that hoping that was the issue.

The turbo itself has 100 miles on it (old one ate a windshield clip). Since the windshield clip issue, I put screen over the intake. The first ride out snow and ice built up on the screen and I believe when I would hit a huge bump bits of ice/snow fell into the intake. The intake propellor on the turbo has a couple little chips that I believe is from this. But I didn't think it would make that huge of a difference because they look pretty minor.

The charge tube has the Tial BOV. I thought the line going from the airbox to the Tial was good. Now I;m wondering if it might have a hole.

One other thing, the turbo will build 7-12 pounds under load, but when I let off the throttle for that split second the boost skyrockets to the guage max.

Any ideas what to check or what you think might be the problem? Is there any way to pressurize the system to find the leak? Thanks for any help!

That "propell" compressor spinns in exess off 100000rpm and a minor damage kan cause boost/ airflow problems..

Do you have pic of this?

ditto on small things being big on a turbo. Also, have you checked out the BOV? I had one stuck on my 11 (a belt fragment was the culprit) and it kept me from making boost once. If it's open just a tad, I could see it just holding boost down a ways.

BOV line...

it sounds like you have the bov line hooked up to the air box. that wont work. It must be hooked ahead of the throttle valves to make vacuum on the bov. when you get out of the throttle and lets it open. if you have it hooked to the air box it will keep the bov pressurized all the time, causing it to not open. thus spiking your boost gauge, causing you fuel box to Not operate properly, etc.

BOV is hooked to the throttle bodies in between throttle bodies and reeds as per cutler's instructions. I still haven't had a chance to look at it yet. busy rebuilding a section of cabinets where my sink was.

Had a real quick look at it today and the BOV isn't completely shutting. When I get a chance I'll see why it's sticking. Might have it tightened too much or something. Thanks for all the suggestions.
