Curious where the eastern most mountains would be in Canada that get good snow? Coming from Minnesota. I was just brainstorming... With little snow here in the states, and the exchange rate how it is, would it be worth making a trip up north? Would Banff AB be about the closest place to MN that has mountains? Looks like it would be about a 19-20 hour drive from the Minneapolis area.

I have only been there in the summer, but I think you are closer to a 27-29 hour drive. MPLS to Butte is around 17 hours in good weather.
I don't know anything about these clubs. Maybe they can help?

^ Whistler is close to the border, but right on the west coast...so it's about the furthest away you could be coming from the east. Takes me 9-10 hours to get there living in south BC.

The Fernie area is likely your closest with good sledding options.

yep fernie is 2 hrs northeast of kalispell MT or 40min from USA border, and as of lately we have been waking up to find 20-30cms of snow up high the last few days!!
