Can?

On the subject of cans. SPI has just released a carbon fiber can for the 2011 - 2013 Pro, weighing in at around 3 lbs, advertising it as the lightest can out there. I'm just wondering if anyone is running one? I've looked for sound clips on it but so far haven't found anything.

So...what would be the lightest can with no obnoxious factor for my -11 Pro?
I'm not looking for HP(not loss of them of course) but weight saving...

I know from the Dragon time that the snostuff cam messed up the temp readings on my friends 07D700, and I hope this was a once in a lifetime experience but I need to ask: have any of you noticed stuff like this on the PRO's after mounting can on these?

I had a J+T on my assault for about five miles. In that five miles I noticed I lost 300 RPM and my ears rang for awhile afterwards. Needless to say the stocker is back on and is going to stay on while I own it.

First ride with the GGB can yesterday sounds great, does have a big bark on the top end.

Any body put the HPS on? Wonder if there is any lose of rpm

I know you posted this about a month ago, but thought I would follow up.

I recently put the HPS can on and have put about 200 miles on the sled. I've noticed a drop of as much as 300 RPMS. There have been some other issues that have arisen after I put the can on as well, which I haven't determined if they are coincidence or caused by the can so I won't mention them.

I haven't noticed a big change in performance, but it's enough that I've chosen to try something else.

I have to admit though, I really like the sound.

I had a HPS installed on my 11 pro, and really liked the sound. Didn't lose any rpm, but didnt gain hardly any for the money. Put it on my 13 because i wanted a little tone. I recently installed a SLP pipe and can which is basically like stock with a different tone. I really like the SLP can. It is not as loud as the HPS but a little louder than stock. The weight difference between the stock can and SLP is comparable. The hps is considerably lighter than stock. Just my experience and thoughts.

We have HPS cans in the shop on the shelf ready to ship now for a great price. Call John and tell Frog on the forums sent ya and tell him you would like my discount. Worth the call, number is in my sig. Good luck.

Not trying to bash here, just giving some real experiences lately:

My boss just put an HPS on his 13' 163 and it lost at least 200 RPM immediately, plus the noise at full pinned literally hurts my ears even while riding the sled.

Also one of my riding buddies that runs a Polaris shop just put the straight-line carbon on his 13' because he was so impressed with the weight savings. After the first 3 hour ride he removed it because he said his "ears wouldn't stop ringing".

So far for me the SLP is the only can that has a somewhat comparable tone to stock. Though I am pretty picky about sound, I care about keeping our riding areas open and think we should always try to minimize our "annoyance" to others in the backcountry :)

HPS or MBRP cans? The loss in weight doesn't make up for the loss in HP. But they are great at pissing anybody off that has to listen to them!!
