Can you mix gas and oil when the gas is in the tank

I have heard both that your not supposed to mix it in the tank and that you can mix it in the tank.. what do you guys think ? i would be running a 2006 rev 600 mod. And riding alot of ditches and not racing

Not with any definitive accuracy. If close enough works for you then yeah have right at it.

Been mixing mine that way for years. Just as accurate as mixing it in a gas can. I use a 20 oz. Gatorade bottle that I have marked at every 3.2 oz so I can mix at the correct ratio when filling up at the pump.

just use the gas pump as your guide. put in the amount of oil to get the right ratio for the amount of gas you put in. buy a ratio-rite. its not really rocket science, the factory oil pump is never exactly a certain ratio.

This is why sleds should have never been built with a oil pump. If your not smart enough to figure out how many ounces of oil to add to gallon of gas you should find another sport!!!

Yep. They run better when you mix it yourself. And you lose 5-10 lbs of oil bottle

Carry a gallon jug and mix it in the jug to a gallon of fuel prior to pouring into the sled's tank prior to filling.

Yes, it's pretty basic. If you put ten gallons of fuel at the pump then dump the determined amount of oil in after. I did it on my old mod 800 bb polaris for 4 years without issue. I am not sure why a person would do it any other way? I guess if you went out of town and had gas cans then you would just mix it in the can that way if you only used a partial can then there would be no guessing.

Get a "ratio rite" mixing cup.

It's AWESOME.

There is also a few free gas/oil ratio mixture app out there for smart phones as well.
