Can you ditch the TPS system on a Pro?

I didn't have any trouble with my TPS switch on my Pro last year but read about what sounded like a lot of people who had varying degrees of grief from them. I will leave mine alone and if it doesn't bother me I won't bother it. But at the first sign of trouble can I ditch it and ride without? Is it just a safety deal or does it do more? I do run a tether so not sure how that part makes me much safer?

I think you might be referring to the TSS? (throttle safety switch). This kills the engine if the throttle gets stuck open. The TPS (throttle position sensor) tells the ECU your throttle position so it knows where you are on the fuel map. I believe you can disable the TSS.

You have to have it attached and working properly in order for your sled to run.
A TPS is not a new thing, they have been on sleds for years. It seems that the PRO is a bit more sensitive to TPS input than some older sleds. Pull the TPS plug and fill the connector with dielectric grease and you most likely will never have to think about it again.

Speaking for the '11s, set your TPS to spec. using a homemade rig, it's like a carb tune-up. Gets rid of just bout every runability issue I have read about on the '11s.
