Isn't anyone who is in the country illegally already breaking the law and should be considered a criminal?

Homeland secretary wants criminal aliens out of US

WASHINGTON – If you're a criminal and you're not entitled to be in the United States, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wants you out of the country. Napolitano wants what she calls "criminal aliens" off American streets. She is looking at existing immigration enforcement programs to see if taxpayers are getting the most bang for their buck.

"That sounds very simple, but it's historically not been done," Napolitano said, speaking to reporters and senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials Thursday.

About 113,000 criminals who were in the U.S. illegally were deported last year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said. The agency estimates there are now as many as 450,000 criminals in federal, state and local detention centers who are in the country illegally.

Napolitano said she wants to improve data-sharing among local, state and federal facilities. So far, there are jails in 26 counties across the country with computer systems that can talk instantly with immigration systems.

The goal, Napolitano said, is for federal immigration officials to know whether an inmate is in the country illegally immediately after he is processed into a detention facility. After the criminal serves his or her sentence, immigration officials can be ready to deport that person right away.

ICE spokesman Richard Rocha said the agency plans to expand this connectivity to all state and local detention centers over the next four years.

Napolitano, whose job includes overseeing immigration laws, says she also will go after criminal fugitives who are in the country illegally.

(This version CORRECTS number of criminal aliens deported last year to 113,000, sted 201,000.))

Simple.
The dems are in control.
They look at illigal immigration as a good thing.
According to Reid, the way out of the reccesion is to grant amnesty to the illigals.
The republicans got 2 riders put on the 900billion dollar give away that will force anyone getting the money to use the E-verify system and confirm all their employees are legal to be in the country. The dems were caught off guard with this move and it went thru. They didn't want a roll call to show that the dems wanted it dropped so illigals could get the jobs being created.

They are now (the dems led by Palosi) behind closed doors trying to figure out how to strip it out of the final bill. They just don't want the general public to KNOW they are trying to strip it out of the bill so the poor criminals can take those jobs also.

They will pour all this money into deporting them (which I am strongly for), but then they will just walk/swim/drive/ride a horse right back over.... STRENGTHEN THE FREAKING BORDERS!!!!!!

EXACTLY and use illegals and prison scum to build the fence ! ! ! !

Why don't we build the fence with their bodies, might detour a few of them from coming across

Here's a incident that pisses me off.

Vehicle full of immigrants end up rolling into a ditch etc...

Come to find out, driver, no habla englayyyy, no drivers license, and a card thats say's if you are with ICE, they waive all rights and to just place them under arrest.

Law enforcement was unable to arrest this individual!! WTF, any "legal" US citizen without a D.L. is subject to arrest for driving without, why not this criminal?

And.........what "rights" do illegal immigrants have to "waive" in the first place?

To think of all the time and money US taxpayers spend every year to deal with BS like this.

Had another one this past summer.

Illegal immigrant took numerous city, county and state officers on a high speed chase, risking lives and property.

Any legal US citizen would likely be imprisoned for awhile with HUGE fines.

This individual is held and released a day or so later to a immigration officer...who knows from there.

The best part is.......This same illegal had been deported from out state less than 2 weeks prior to high speed chase!

Got deported and immediately crossed the border again and right back here! They tracked his phone records thru California all the back to Iowa beginning the day he was deported.

There are 2 bills in DC right now that would cure the problem in 4 years.

It's called E-verify.
It's an electronic data base that allows companies to check to make sure that the person applying for the job is legal to apply for the job.

The second part is called the Save Act.
It REQUIRES all buisness to use E-verify. It is a stepped in approach that would be in full effect in 4 years. Any company found to be hiring illigals would have ZERO excuse.

Problem.
The Dems have done everything in their power to stop both bills.
Palosi had a revolt last year. They tried to force the issue by getting enough signers to force a vote. It fell 6 votes shy. Palosi was threatening to stop any and all bills put forward by anyone who signed the petition. The Dems are terrified that if either of these bills comes up for a vote they will pass easily. Why? Who wants to have to go to the american people and say "We voted to give your job to a criminal". Thus, the Dem leaders will do ANYTHING to keep these from coming up for a vote.
