I Just bought a clutch retainer bolt.

It cost $30.00 for the bolt kit.

The kit consisted of a bolt and a small tube of vaseline.

I can't figure out what the vaseline is for.

The vaseline is for what they're gonna do to you when the crank breaks now that your clutch is back on. I wouldn't be picking up any soap for the next few hundred miles or so. Quite a bit o' vaseline was it...... EW

The vaseline is to ease the pressure of 55-60 ftlbs of tourque.

Its for the wife's foot.. The trick is to get it well lubed up with the vaseline before she finds out you spent 30 bucks on a bolt and inserts her foot in your ***.
