This forum used to be fun and funny, by dividing us up in these multitude of categorys they can control us easier. I used to be able to come on and check 2 or 3 sections and know what was going on, now it is a major undertaking just to find where everyone is hanging out at.

I know I spend a lot less time here now!
Yep, it's getting to be that way for me as well. If you keep getting your hand slapped every time you reach for a cookie, eventually you stop reaching.
I didn't realize a few guys having fun and chatting about nothing, giving thanks and throwing around rep to pass a little time between snow storms was such a bad thing.

No doubt it's happening.
Chris wants to shift the bell curve; bring more of the somewhat-active users to a more active role.
One good way to do that is to bump off the top of hte bell curve.
For the slow ones, that's the members that are on here a lot. The faces everybody knows. The people that start threads.
No new threads works for a while. Then there's nothing new to read.
Which leads to no new posts.
Somewhat-active members don't have anything to read, they disappear.
it starts at the top, works its way down. Seen it before.
But as with every other post where i've said this, I suspect it will fall on deaf ears.
Really won't surprise me to see snowest become 99% tech-related forum, heavily moderated, all the "fun" happening somewhere else.
Maybe my definition of "fun" is wrong.

If you check.it out you will see Mule is right on, but once the "old timers" leave so does the tech info in their heads. The people most upset and spending less time here are the very guys that have been here the longest.

I used to log in and check General, Polaris, Wyoming, Colorado, mountian and fouled plug.
Now it's just a pain.
In the polaris section for instance, you can't give info to someone on an older sled that you used to own unless you check out everything. Why all the subsections?
It's just getting too complicated and by trying to appease the few who don't like to look at threads they don't personally like it drives all the people that actually make these sections fun out.
Can we just get back to fewer and easier to follow section.
I don't see what was wrong with the way it was set up (as far as teh different sections).
Now it's just a pain.

I've been through tons of changes on this forum but none of them have been as pervasive as these changes being made now. If it's all for the better than count me in but it seems to be changes to get a different kind of person on here. What's wrong with the people that are on here now? When my brother died a couple of years ago, I received more solace and comfort from the guys and girls on this forum than I did my own remaining family members. Sure we like to joke around and throw the odd curse word or maybe a slightly provocative picture or 2 but immobilize us to do good and watch what happens. People genuinely give a k-rap about this forum but they give way more k-rap about the people they meet, ride with, chat too and even sometimes pi$$ off on here.

i think mule nailed it... the people i have found to be the most knowledgable on here truely post very little, and 99% of the time only respond to others threads, they dont start there own. so if there arent people like myself who start a new thread every time i have a question, then those people wont be here, as they have nothing to respond to, then you lose most of your legitimate info, then it becomes nothing but straight garbage...
but whatever... i keep floating, and posting... and whoring. but i definately love to shoot the chit with people on here during the off season. its what sledders do.
