Can M10 Suspension still boondock well on a T-Nytro?

Whats your opinions? I will be making a move to a different rear suspension on my Nytro when I can afford it. I like my Timbersled on the trail and for Boondocking. Tried so many combos for climbing and have not got it to settle in to my liking. So what are your opinions on the M10 and which one to go with on setup, CR, FastTrax, etc. ? Help is greatly appreciated.

According to Paul at Impulse it is the best even for that because it hops up on the snow so fast and allows you to accelerate quickly at will. I have the EZRyde and will compare it with his 174 M10 in the next few days. I may be going to the live axle 162 M10 myself and I primarily boondock

Depends what you consider boondocking? If you mean riding around uncontrollably on the back 6 inches of your track, then no they dont. If you mean busting thru the trees, carving donuts, jumping, etc, etc, all the while holding a controllable line, then yes they do. I personally like my sled out in front of me with the track on the snow putting my horsepower to the ground. ;)

If you can afford it, the CR 10 is the cadillac of M10's, they all work good if set up and maintained properly. The new Racers Edge set up looks pretty slick too, a guy I know just set up his two boosted yami's with Bakers skid for the same price of one M10, I'd like to try them out if we ever get out of the -20 deep freeze, he says they work very well. :D

Buy the M10 set up that makes the most sense to you, and dont look back. :beer;:beer;

Thanks guys. I have to call Paul tomorrow for something anyway. I think I will be asking him about his. Do you know which one he got and who set it up? Chad's Setup looks killer and all the guys ridin it say so. Just a huge amount of coin.

loved my m-10's that I have had in the past. basically the stock live axle m-10's work great. I'm going with bakers setup this year. lots of positve feedback on it with guys going out so far this year. it's a fraction of the price at around 2 g's. give darryl a call at 403-254-8686 and talk to him at least.

I am pretty sure it is CR's setup he runs. I will ride it tomorrow and let you know. Not sure it is comaring apples to apples since I am using a 162

I agree with the two guys who posted on the live axle m-10s. I have a 159 and love it. Talk to Trevor at Mac's Machine, 250 836 3648, he helped me dial mine and it works awesome.

Has anyone seen the Nextech skid in action ? Looks strong and those guys know suspension but I think they are more snowcross guys.

Paul runs CR Racing's m-10 174 suspension.

I'm also running the M10 live axle which came in at half the price of a CR skid and that included the "Jack" and Ohlins shocks. Trevor at Mac's Machines is the guy to deal with. His customer service is second to none.

The CR skid looks great but too much coin when you consider the competition imo.

Edit: If you're going 174" then the CR setup would be more feasible. Since you wouldn't be effectively buying two sets of rails.

My opinion, i have a CR 10 and it keeps the front end down...really well, to well sometimes its less fun to ride especially in the tree's etc...its a really good suspension just keeps the ski's planted all the time...if anyone has any setup sugestions i would appreciate it.

M10 because when you go over ledges while climbing it keeps your front end down and keeps the tracktion to the snow. its unmatched. Daryl @ racers edge is the god of weight tranfer and builds the best m10....hands down. it will cost but he does the bolt on to stock rails kit now wich is very cool...and not 5000$

True that

If you want strength, the live axle is NOT the way to go. I got bins or cracked and broken Live rails, they dont stand up to aggressive riding, jumping etc. When installed and set up by the right person they do work great, but they are super weak.

M-10 solid axle is the way to go, theres a few shops building them but the key is the set up of it. Its all in the way its mounted in the chassis, and adjusted from there.

People claim the CR and Racers edge M-10's are too much coin, what they forget is the hours, days and months of R&D that go into getting the perfect set up. I know first hand, late 06' I did the R&D for CR's 162, 2 tunnels, 5 diff external brackets, about 2 millions holes, diff shocks, springs, transfer blocks, rails and the list goes on and on. I counldnt even count the total hours. When buying a CR or Racers edge M-10, you get what you pay for !!!! Stop into Revy anytime and have a look at what skid's are taming the steepest chutes and hills. Prove is on the hillz......

And yup, it boon's awesome on the Nytro's.

I, and most others, have no doubt in the proven reliability and the R&D of the CR Racing setup. But $6000 is still a bunch of money for most folks right now. That's what I am saying. You add the mounting stuff and the cost of goods, and shipping and there you are at $6K. So I wanted to see if there was other options that work out for less total $. BUT, there is a lot to be said for paying extra $ for the R&D when it is colder than crap and you are out on the hill with broken part or other problem created from poor setup or bad parts. So for me, I need to balance it out.
