I got a short about 2 inch long crack, small bend on the tunnel from where I stand on. The question is, can I weld on it or add small scrap and bolt it together? its 04' vertical escape.
I dont have aluminum wire for MIG but however I do have a old stick weld machine, there is some aluminum sticks at the store.

I wouldnt weld thin aluminum, the heat of welding weakens leading to more cracking, you can use lords adhesive and rivits which will fix it right up(lords adhesive will glue it togeather as strong as welding without changing the metal)the adhesive is available on line or from a polaris dealer(polaris uses it to glue togeather the pro ride and rush chassis's)

thanks guys, I dont want to pay more to fix it but I ll do my redneck way.. duct tape. just kidding.
I ll just undent it then add aluminum or steel sheet and rivits it together.

You will want to reinforce the tunnel across the bend by spanning it with a 3/4" x 3/4" x 6" long aluminum angle. You attach the front end of the angle by drilling through one of the holes in the foot pad and inserting a 1/4" stainless steel bolt with nylon thread lock nut, w/ SS washers. You attach the rear of the angle to the tunnel behind the bend with 3 Stainless Steel structural rivets that are carefully located between the bumps in the tunnel. This is stronger than the original and will resist all future damage to the tunnel. Do it to both sides to balance it out. The angle edge that points down should be tapered so you don't leave a sharp edge that will either catch on something or cut your boot.
