Can I keep it???

very good write up Dam Dave....awesome... thank you!
if theres anything else you can recall....let us know....example... chain case, jack shaft, clutching ...like others have stated!
i am 100% sold on the new chassis...and yes your write up helped...but not in the proclimb...rather... in the procross XF 800 High Country with the 141/2.25 track.
i am unfortunately north east of you with alot less elevation....but deep snow.
i am coming off of a 2010 Crossfire 800H.O. sno pro le.....i love your statement...they have the motor and now it has a home....well put....are you sure your not a writer...lol
will be snow checking shortly...thanks

They had a xf setup that way but i did not get to ride some alaska dealers wouldnt share its. Looked like a fun sled and it got around well

Hard to answer that for someone else, but i could instantly ride it well, it was more fun than my M

Thanks for the insight and report. Reading more and more reviews I can decide for myself what to believe and expect from the chassis. I know what to expect from the 800 HO motor already. Once again thanks for your report, it helps to clear the muddy waters.

Thanks for the report, this shows all the more reason Cat should have had a demo program. I bought my 09 based off demo rides, your analysis is greatly appreciated and from the sound of it they got it right. For me I'll wait until I get to ride one before buying simply due to the fact 12g's don't come easy for me. Looking forward to next season and throwing my leg over one.

I had asked this before in another post but will the vertical be available for our spring orders? I know the 38" won't be but the steering would be nice. I ordered the m1100 t and after reading the post I sure hope it is close to my stock m8 for "feel" of weight. I almost want to change my order to the PC8.

Sorry it this has been asked already, but I didn't see anything pertaining to snow conditions?
2' of powder, 3" of powder, boiler pan? What type of snow were you riding on? How far in were you sinking? Was it possible to stick a 162?

It is not close to the M8 for "Feel of weight", it is heavier, and feels heavier.........

If that is your criteria, then I would switch to another sled..........

I talked about this a little in my post in the ohter thread. After riding the TURBO yesterday, it is NOT the replacement for the M8, it is the replacement for the M1000. If you are expecting the feel of you M8 you will be disappointed. However, it is a great sled.

I does sound like the t1100 with the vert steering and 38" stance is pretty close to the m8 for handling. I hope they get these upgrades out before release.

No. Not even close. If I gave that impression I am sorry the 1100T is a fun sled but will not handle like a M800

This blows, I had such high hopes for the m1100 turbo. So is this thing a point and shoot sled?

I don't think it will be the point and shoot sled that the Yamaha is. Climbing will be its strength, but it will still be able to dance, just not like the lighter 800. I'd compare it to a lighter feeling M1000. Hilly would agree - he's been on a M1000 for 5 years and bought the new TURBO. His comments yesterday would confirm this.

about 8000 feet around island park, they still have awesome snow for this late in the year, couple feet of powder I guess on top of a very deep base, temps were in the 20's to start I guess

How is the 1100 compared to a T-Nytro or Apex???

I spent about 10 min on a Turbo Nytro once. The power delivery felt the same - smooth 4stroke power for the most part. However, the biggest difference is where the weight is placed in relation to the center of the snowmobile. The new Cat chassis is as close to being balanced 50/50 as any snowmobile ever, and you can feel it. The weight of the motor is farther forward on the Nytro, so you feel it more because you have less leverage on the weight when compared to the new Cat.

I think guys coming off Yamaha 4-strokes will be very pleased with the new Cats.

First of all thanks for the post. I just want to know if they sidehill the same, better,or worse than you're m and does it get ontop of the snow better? I bleed green and own 4 m8's my son liked the pro so we got one and all i can say is wow. It gets around in deep powder realy good and when u get it stuck its easier to get out. I guess i'm looking for someone to tell me with excitement that it's that good. I use to race cats in 90s and my good friend owns a cat dealership and race to,knows alot of poeple and he told me they were dissapointed with the pc8, I've heard from alot of people that have road them that there good but not that good,or they beat around the bush about it. I want someone to tell me will they make people "BETTER" like they say about the pro cause i need 2 of them and cant write the check yet. thanks.
