Can 3 Sleds Fit on a 12' Trailor ?

Me and a couple buddies are thinking about investing in a 12' foot trailor. We all ride 155 track sleds (just under 11' feet long each)
I heard if you drive two on up to the front and push the back ends out so they look like a 'V' sitting on the trailor that you can drive the third sled on between them and it overhangs by 2'

Can anyone confirm this? We dont want to buy a 16' as it wont fit in any of our garages.

Thanks

yep we fit three on my 8.5x12ft flatdeck sled trailer.
Load them up as you described. third sled goes on backwards. reverse please! The part of the ski in front of the skag would hang out past the trailer on the backwards sled. AND hoods/sides of the two outer sleds would usually get a lil chewed by the middle sleds tunnel.
threes company

I've done it just as you described, loading all 3 forward. I would rather have a little hanging off the back then beating up the front sleds hoods. 2 159's and a 144

I've done it also, quite a bit of room. On a 10+2 V-nose loaded the first sled to the front and hang the skis off the 1 side a bit and swing the back end as far forward on the other side, leaves enough room so a 151" hangs out the back about 2' the other one barely at all. This was also on a 7.5' wide trailer, on a wide trailer you would have quite a bit more room. Seen the one backwards, to much hassle to load imo.

I have a tritan 12 foot v nose and I tried fitting a summit 700, summit 800, and an rmk 900 on just like that and I could not do it. The 700 and 900 only had 151s and the 800 had a 159.

I'd probably get a 4 place and another friend to help split the cost of a storage unit to keep the trailer in. I hate standing in the snow when I'm tired and its dark trying to make my crap do something its not designed to do. Just my .02.

X2

Just because you are able to stuff a real fat chick into a very tight dress doesn't mean the outcome is going to be pretty!:D

Well...... the other part of this problem is im going to tow the trailor with my company vehicle an 07' Chev Equinox with a 3.4 liter V6 (Read: FREE GAS !!)
It says in my owners manual it can haul 3500 lbs. No way it can haul that much!!

I figure 3 sleds & a 12' trailor probably total 2,000 lbs. Not sure how many extra pounds a 4-place would add..... This would be comfortable weight for this little chev. What do you guys think?

From all the posts im going to assume that it can be done, just not very easily.
I think i would drive all 3 sleds straight on in the same direction rather than messin around putting one on backwards. 2' overhang isnt much.

I would say you are going to be over 2000 lbs with 3 machines full of gas and oil. Then all the luggage and the weight of the trailer. You will be getting close to that 3000 lbs mark. just my.02

Sled bed make a 3 place I have one we hall 2 162s and a 159 works great.I would go with that, you just drive the first two on slide them to the side and the last one goes up the midle clamp them down and go.

Yeah its possible, this is what it looks like with a 136" track in the middle, I would verify the load capacity of your trailer, 3 sleds full of gas is pushing 1900 lbs (1600 for 3 skidoos:cool:) the sled in the middle rides on top of the spare to raise the back end allowing more room to push the middle sled back further and to keep it off the other two sleds side pannels.

and you tow it with an elcamino? ;) sweet!

I was going to comment about the tow rig as well, but Sweet was not the word i was going to use... Hell with that setup he could halu four sleds...:D

:D Actually shes just there for looks:face-icon-small-win, quite a useful hauler for around the yard, this thing has the wheel base of a long bed but the turning radius of a mini cooper.

(yes I can haul four with this setup problem is these 50 year old air bags don't hold much over 300 lbs without the hitch dragging)

Not sure if it matters, but would the width of the sleds matter? I run my 2 144 zxs with a 136 phazer on a 14' and still hang off a foot or so. I pull all three forward.

If one is backwards on an open trailer, any worries on the hood and/or windshield flying off?

BTW, 3 sleds plus the trailer weight is probably over 2000 lbs. A 2,000 lb axle is rated for total weight, not just payload. I just replaced a broken wheel and hub probably due to overloading.

It's a bit tight but can work without a slush guard deal. Legal to go 4' without any problems, I would tie the one hanging off down in the back somehow though. Why not go just a bit longer, say a 14-16'. Usually you will find them with dual axles and at least brakes on one axle as well.

I have the 16' with 2' v of course and I run 4 sleds from 151 to 159. I have to run them all the way to the front of the channel and then the back two under the bumpers a bit. They fit but the back two hang off about 3' to the bumper.

Yes, they have been known to fly off at the worst time. Don't ask me how I know this.

Get a three place, puting three on a two place is a PIA and dangerous to boot. Go with an aluminum and come up with a reason that you need a bigger work rig.
