Camso Storage Solution

Looking to see what you Camso folks are running for fuel can/storage bag combo's. The season is getting close and it's time to finish the build and get ready to ride!

This gentleman running a rental fleet in Colorado set his up like this.

That's a Pelican 1300 case and a 2 gallon fuel jug. Says they fit like a glove.

A couple nice set ups. I am still not sold on the plastic shroud used by Camso. I may try the Craigerbuilt QRS can I use on my sled. Not a fan of thinking that mounting things to the plastic tray is OK. Would like to see things a bit more solid for mounting.

Plastic is secure to the tunnel but offers no functional use. Both Chains are open to the undercarriage so it's not for that, and it looks ultra bulky. Peli box mounts securely to tunnel with 4 stock bolts. Riveted in D plate. I run a 3.2 glln tank so no need for more than a gallon size rotopax. This could also be easily mounted on top of peli box, just thought I'd try to keep additional weight as low as possible in the skid.

Camso should take notes.

Agreed, either take notes or, what most mfgr's do is both design and manufacture the add on's that will integrate with their creation(s). I'd be happy to buy the wheel kit, the add-on fuel tank and/or storage bag/box, rather than going with a universal aftermarket or trying to custom-rig something myself.

I do love the creations others have come up with though.

I can also understand of all the capitol is tied up in R&D or something else in the company. I have watched Shark Tank so I know how it all works-ha!

I actually have a Camso coming for my YZ, it's probably already here I haven't checked but anyways. They ride great but it is the ugliest kit out there by far. The tunnel is ugly, the spindle is ugly, the ski handle and ski are ugly ditch the white, everything looks like it came from Walmart IMO like some cheap Chinese kids toy. They gotta do something about that and it's going to take a lot more than bold new graphics. They have a great concept going with the single rail and how well it rides but holy $hit it is butt ugly.

Ha, I agree, it isn't a work of art, but for the price and the performance, and the fact that Sports Illustrated won't be using the bike for their next swimsuit edition, I won't be parking it in front of any lodge for anyone to be admiring. I'll be in the woods with no one else really around.

In thinking about it, it looks ok and ain't all that bad. It could be better but it would cost more $$$.

I’ve talked to the head of marketing for Camso, they have no plans for making any accessories for the DTS other than the “race shock” they had on display at the snow-shows. They are going to leave it up to the aftermarket to make accessories/add-ons...

I’ve been working on a TSS type shock for the Camso, but not too sure about it because of drive chain tension and etc.. Might just make the kit not operate as designed.. The head engineer at Camso wasn’t to enthusiatic about it either.. We’ll see..

For all factors involved, the kit is second to none. Best track in the industry, great price point. And outside of it being an ugly duckling, it is an engineering work of art. All adjustments are precise and well though out, instructions, parts manifesto, and adjustment guide are insanely detailed. This isn't a kit spawn in someone's garage that has been annually refined.
With that being said, one shoe does not fit all. We ride ALL day, I need storage, I need extra fuel, I need tools. So making my kit functional for me is priceless, even if that means hacking, replacing, and getting rid of useless parts, I'll worry about resale value next year.

I'd be interested in seeing if my Mountain Addiction covers would hold a Mountain Addiction 3.3 fuel jug.

Unfobrtunatly there's no Camso owners in Revelstoke, but if anyone is interested..... and coming to town I'd donate a cover and my time to see if we could make it work. Or if there's someone near enough (Okanagan) I'd consider traveling.

I've ridden the kit and its great. I wouldn't have bought one if it didn't. Price point, quality, design, track, value etc. are all on point but it wouldn't cost much more to knock the ugly off of it.

Everyone is different. I hear what you guys are saying but at the same time, I kinda like the retro looks of the Camso kit. I'm hoping to pick both of mine up tomorrow. It seems like quite a bit of thought has been given to storage with the plastic shelf trough and multi-location tie down points. Just lay a Pelican and jerry can on the table and cinch em down. Out with the billet and carbon bling, in with real engineering, simplicity and functionality. I don't want to pay for bling.
