Camoplast extreme vs Polaris 5.1 - Pro's & Con's

I need to purchase a track for my 09 dragon. The sled will be dropped and rolled...so space is not an issue. It the camoplast really worth it?

I suspect:

Camoplast is heavier and would take more HP to spin? Do these hold up? I see lots of torn lugs on these tracks

Polaris 5.1 is lighter and works almost as well as the camoplast?

2nd issue...Avid drivers: with space not being an issue, do they make a stock size driver that does not require me to cut my rails and install an anti stab?

Thanks for your help.....we ride in powder, boondock and run trails........

Get the extreme. NO QUESTION. They hold up as well or better than a stock track. Perform about equal in dry fluff. All other conditions it isnt even close. The extreme will far out perform the 5.1

As for the drivers, pretty sure if you are set on anti rachets, pretty sure you will have to trim the rails. Unless you are turbo'd, there is really no need for them. Just run your stock drivers and keep your track tight.

I set my tracks to stock specifications when it comes to tightness. Does a big wheel kit in the back provide any elimination of drag?

I'm not set on avid drivers..since I will have the sled apart for the drop and roll...now is the time to do whatever else I might like to do (that is cost effective).

Thank for the input.

Are you really set on the drop n roll? Whose D&R are you planning on installing?

You could absolutely run the stock drivers and install the track and be done with it with optimal performance. The track lug/inner tunnel clearance is very overated IMO. Especially after seeing the results of having more clearance on D&R IQ's and comparing those results to sleds that have less track lug clearance on stock configurations.

anyone missin me at BCR?

I am going with the FXT D & R. I have purchased a camoplast extreme track as of last night.

The engine in this dragon is blown (to be replaced) and has to be removed. Seemed like the perfect time to d & R. My understanding is the change in geometry is a real positive for this sled. I plan on running the stock drivers.

Any experience here?
