i just switched out tracks on my '01 MM700. I took off the stock 141x2 mountain max track and put in a used Camo Challenger 144x2 with a few lugs missing [got it, and the rail extensions for free  ]. will the challenger out perform the stock mm track? i heard the stocker trenched like a mother, and the camo is a tad bit longer..so any input?

Tracks

Stock MM track in 141 was made by Yokohama. They were a harder compound and heavy. I was just at my buddy's shop (Yamaha dealer) and he was replacing a stock MM700 track with a new Camoplast on a client's sled.

He said his 162"x2.5x16 is lighter than the factory Yokohama one by 6-7 lbs. Cant remember actual numbers but it goes to show the weight and what the rotational mass would be. Less mass rotating means more track speed.

When I had a MM700, I replaced the Yoko 141" with a camo 151" and if I remember correctly, lost close to 7-8lbs. I had to add a bit of weight to the clutch. Going into it I was concerned about the sled's ability to spin a 151 but with less weight it turned it easier that the 141.
