Camcorder Recommendation

Looking for a low cost, small, durable camcorder model. We have been using a JVC mini DV with some success but they seem to be suseptible to condensation. Thinking about getting a new one that stores the video on hard drive instead of the mini tapes.
Any advice on type, brand or model camcorder would be appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't go HD (or optical)... parts in those are really sensitive to shock and vibration compared to tape.

If you've ever crashed a head on an HD you'll know what I mean.

Condensation is caused by the difference in temperature inside-to-outside. Bring the camera down in temp and try then. Don't keep it in a jacket pocket.

I have used sony cams and had tremendous results. i have a sony high deff mini dv thats about 4 years old now. i have taken this camara out my my pack soaking wet everytime its been used. I always make a point to let the camara dry before watching video in the evenings. guarantee you wont be dissapointed with a new hard drive sony high deff. great quality for the size and price!

check out vholdr camera,,i got one coming,,people i have met are pleased about it so i give her a try.
