Camcorder gurus...need help transferring to a computer.

I've got a Canon HV-30, and the instructions say I need appropriate software to do the job, but does not say what will work.....soooo, what kind of software will work?

Secondly, I need a DV (IEEE 1394) terminal or a DV capture board. Pretty sure my computer doesn't have that( I havea vague idea what it is. Some place I can buy one to put into my computer?

Any help with these and any other questions I will have inthe future is greatly appreciated.
