Camcorder geeks - I need your help

Ok here it goes......

10 years ago, I started this whole camcorder with going down the 8mm road with Sony. My first camcorder was an analog 8mm. I took many family videos with that, then it went out. I probably had 15-20 tapes recorded that way.

So, then I bought a Sony digital 8mm about 5 years ago, and recorded everything on that.....Probably have about 30 tapes of the kids growing up recorded in digital 8mm. This one has now died and I just bought a Sony HDR-SR12. It is a 160GB hard drive HD model. It will be here in a week (Got a killer deal on it @$439)

Anyone have any advice to get those 8mm analog and 8mm digital onto my hard drive?

Once and for all, I want to get these all in my back-up 1TB hard drive.

How do I go about this?

you need a player so you either have to go to the pawn shop or borrow one from a friend.

A quicker option may be to just go to a local service provider who will do it for you. look in your yellow pages under video production and reproduction services.
