I drove up and checked out the parking today. There is still 2-3 feet of snow at the Callaghan Country base. This is where the unload point will be. For those that don't know where that is, it is 10KM up the Callaghan nordic center road from Hwy 99. Ignore the sign the says Snowmobilers unless you want to go to Brandywine. There is very limited space from where you turn off the Callaghan road to the snow line so please unload your sleds at the snowline and go and park on the road. Do not park in Callaghan Country's parking lot. There will be guys with 4 place enclosed so even if you think there is room for you have some courteous for other sledders and park on the road. There is lots of parking on the road . Please do not unload on the road and cross it with your sleds. This is illegal and there may be enforecment guys around.

There is way more snow this year at this time than last year so I don't see any problem crossing the lake but everyone will have to make that decision for themselves. We only have access across the lake so don't be ripping it up there. I will be going up Friday to put in a trail so if anyone wants to join me they can PM me.

There was a rumour going around that the closure was going to be extended past May 15th and that is false. So get your buddies out for one more ride and come support us in getting the Callaghan re-opened

This will be the point where you will see full grown adults starting to cry. "I have to cross that lake?? There's water showing" LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome day up the Icecap. 4" of corn snow in the morning and about 6" in the afternoon. A few guys up from the Rutherford and Brandywine. Some of the Brandywine guys say they saw some open spots in the Callaghan lake but the edges looded good. Appa lake was good with no open water and just a few spots with water on the ice and Ryan lake was totally frozen. Ryan lake is at abou 5200' and Cllaghan at 3900'

10 of us went in & out on Fri., no problem`s, but a little pucker power for some. We rode Brandy Wine on Sat. 2 great days of blue bird skys--Ken
