Caliber Poly Shield ?

Do the Caliber Poly Shields groove design keep the gravel and dirt from coming over the top of them? It seems as if the crud would travel right over the top and onto the sled. I'm ok with some mist but the dirt and gravel is getting into the suspension parts and it's killing me to watch them get hammered by road crud.

The groves add rigidity to the shield, road crud will still travel up and over. You would need a shield that angled forward to prevent crud from traveling up. I'm looking at getting Enkay Rock Tamers that mount to the receiver hitch to help keep most of the crud from ever getting to the trailer. The big brush style like you see on those huge motorhomes might work also???

It is better than leaving it open. I put one on my old two place tilt and liked it. Also provides a place to store extra fuel up by the skis out of the wind. I have a buddy with an aluminum diamond plate shield that leans forward, it protects better, but rattles the heck out of the trailer from the wind resistance.

Yes, the top of the shield was about at bumper height. Suspension stayed clean, the covers on the sled would get wet and grimey.
