Cabin Info
The cabin has electicity and a hot shower, I plan on doing some work to it this summer but I just don't know when I will get out there. It has 2 bedrooms, I have 4 beds in the shop right now but I don't know how many I will be putting in the house. Yes I said shop. The shop has a wood stove and there is room to work on 6 sleds. Can park more than that in there but don't have room to work on them. I have a mig welder and drill press there now and haven't decided if I'm going to bring all my tools there or not. I have everything you would need except for specialty tools (clutch pullers, etc...) There is also an over hang attached to the shop that will fit 4 mountain sleds to keep the snow off of them. Honestly, unless I get some work done down there this summer, the cabin isn't much to look at. It is however dry, warm and private. It is a mile down the road from Silver Spur Outfitters Lodge. It's right on the main road, however there isn't any parking at the cabin because you can't drive there. You have to park in the town of Dixie and ride to the cabin. There is room in town to park about anything you want but smaller would be better. I'm sure I could arrange for parking of bigger trucks and trailers, I'll have to look into it. This is not a luxury cabin/lodge, it's just a place to stay for a reasonable price. It has a normal kitchen and will be stocked with normal stuff for cooking, pots pans, silverware. Also I will most likely bring stuff over like flour, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard and other staples so people don't have to bring all that. You will most likely have to bring meat, potatoes, onions. I keep quite a bit of meat around but it's mostly bear, lion, elk and deer. I don't eat any beef other than ribeyes and prime, (any yer not gettin those, ha). As for night life, there is none! Dixie is about 30 miles from Red River Hot Springs, (don't know what they have for night life) and about 40 miles from Elk City that has a grocery store, gas station with 91octane(I think) and they have a bar. Other than that, I think it's about 50-60 miles from Grangeville which has more amenities. If anyone would like any more information you can call me at 406-598-0601. Thanks for helping me with some ideas of what to put down on here for information. I don't have any pictures. I will try to get someone over there to take some and email them to me. I'm currently in ND and can't get over there myself. Wish I could, heard there is still a ton of snow. I believe the cabin is at 5600ft and terrain only goes up in elevation from there. Any Questions, please call. Thanks, Chad
