busted 00 700 summit

ok ski-doo guys heres one for ya, i sold my 00 700 summit to a kid! sled had 4500 miles on it with new top end(bottom end was stock) 2 days later he broke the crank and tried to get money out of me! im telling him to get lost sorry sold as is!!!! And to boot he was riding the sled down the trail when it happend!

seems to be pretty common with those sleds. The exact same thing happened to a guy who made a similar post in the General Snowmobiling forum.

There are 3 sides to every story. Yours, his, and somewhere in the middle is usually the truth. Not to rip on anyone, but when you say the bottom end is " stock", does that mean it's never been touched since new?? Seems like the cheap way out to put a top end on a motor with 4500 miles without checking out the bottom.

The crank bearings are usually dry with that age and mileage.

I agree, my buddy just did his '02 700 this year after the second ride. just over 4000 miles on his too
