Businesses worth Staying away from

I usually don’t write anything on forums but I feel I have something that’s worth sharing and will hopefully prevent some of the difficulties I have experience with the Sled Shop in Edmonton. Unfortunately when something happens to your sled it’s gonna cost money…probably lots of money but knowing that you just wanna ride, you work hard, save the money and fix the sled. The only problem is dealing with a company like the Sled Shop…. It’s frustrating when your sled is dropped off in August and you are guaranteed tohave it fixed before the snow flies. It is also frustrating when your being told that your“waiting for parts” for 3 months and then when you call the supplier yourself, it seem like the order hasn’t been placed…..but the day after YOU call the parts are shipped and delivered a week later. Another thing that is frustrating is dealing with a guy who is not honest at all and says he's working on your sled but is really just working on his high profile clients who are dropping 20 grand on turbos. Because in this guys world his word means nothing. He would rather make you wait so long and get so frustrated that you are willing to write a letter such as this!In the end this isn’t life threatening stuff but when you’re spending your hard earned money on a service, you want to be treated with respect and feel like the money you paid was worth it but if anyone asked me about the Sled Shop I would not recommend it at all…..This has been an very unprofessional experience with the SLED SHOP and there is no excuse for the extremely poor service I have received dating back to mid August. I would not recommend the SLED SHOP for anyone who needs their sled fix expecting honesty, integrity, efficiency and a professional experience.

Just out of curiosity how do you know the parts weren't back ordered? There are two sides to every story....

The parts were not back ordered because when I phone the company that they were ordered from, they told me they had them in stock. They always do because they are in high demand. This was for bracing and tunnels stiffeners for a rmk pro...

Business bashing with 3 posts doesn't have much credibility around here.

I would have picked up the sled months ago and done the work myself or took it to another shop. Waiting for months to get bracing and stiffeners installed is just too long.

Ya i should have but unfortunately i was giving him the benefit of the doubt up until November and that's when I started to get worried.... It's definitely a lesson learned for me and hopefully I will be smarter next time around.

If I can't do it myself (which is more often than not) then I take my sled to an old timer that works out of his garage. No BS, no 'tude... just an honest days work for an honest days pay.

Sorry you got the shaft. A pretty shop and fancy showroom don't mean squat when it comes to turning a wrench.

Agreed, the problem is finding that guy.
